Ladies Circle

On Thursday 5th March Reading Ladies Circle organized a Bollywood

Fundraising Evening at the Shenhai Banqueting Suite in Reading in aid of the ’SARIS’ project.

The evening was a great success and attended by over 60 guests including Chrissy Wright, the SARIS project co-ordinator.  Guests were treated to a display of Indian dancing, an authentic three-course meal (with more food than we could all eat) and a disco.  Some of the guests also took advantage of henna tattoos.  It was great to see so many friends and ‘friends of friends’ from both near and far.   As you will see from the photo the Reading girls entered into the spirit of ‘Fun, Friendship and Fundraising’ and ‘Fancy’ dress by wearing saris.  We all owe Nina a big thank you for her ‘wardrobe’ and to both Nina and Julie for making this all possible. In excess of £700 was raised, with donations still being made and we’re really pleased to have our toilet block.  So far we have also notched up one local newspaper article and we have our fingers crossed for the second one.
