Area 4 Think Pink Pamper Evening - 15th September 2009

On the 15th September 2009, Area 4 organised a ‘Think Pink’ pamper evening. We had been lucky enough to get a large venue free of charge and took full advantage of the services the staff provided.

Melanie Vincent (our newly inducted member) printed tickets and posters and arranged the booking of the room together with asking for some pink Cancer Research bags.

I made calls to lots of small businesses in the area and booked stalls for them at a cost of £10 per stall plus 10% of profits if applicable.  We booked in massage, reiki, hairdressing, waxing, nail art, jewellery, scarves, Ann Summers, a wedding shop, a leisure centre who also brought along some golf, cards and gift wrap and also a clairvoyant.  We also had our own stalls.

Sue Sharp organised selling second hand and new dresses for us girls and giving a donation to Think Pink and a cake stall organised by Julie Williams which was manned by Lisa Wilcox and Rachel Crawley.

We charged £5 per ticket and that included a glass of pink bubbly or orange juice and the free pink bag. When the ladies arrived they were able to have lots of treatments at a fraction of the cost and they all had a great night.

We did a raffle with prizes from a restaurant, the leisure centre and a lingerie company with one or two other prizes donated on the night.

All of the girls came and worked really hard in getting it all up and running on the night.  We worked as a team and they were all fantastic.

The idea came from the lady who did the Reiki on the night, who said she would donate her night’s money if I did something for Think Pink – so everything came in around her idea. An amazing £950 was raised from the evening.  Thank you to all who attended and donated and who worked hard on the night.
