Lichfield Ladies Circle 106
Cheque
presentation to The Pathway Project - Tuesday 12th Feb 08
Members of Lichfield Circle met up with the ladies of
The Pathway Project to present the charity with a cheque for £900.
Circle
helped to raise funds for Pathway by holding a charity auction and also
received several donations from a number of individuals. The money will help
towards providing the children who come into contact with Pathway a better
start by providing them with vital equipment and helpful introduction packs.
Whilst national funding is given for the ladies who need the support of
Pathway, the children do not receive any formal funding, which relies on
charitable donations such as this.
Centre: Kathy Coe, founder of The Pathway Project;
Chairman of Lichfield Ladies Circle, Viv Wyss, along with members of
Lichfield Circle and staff at The Pathway Project.
Lichfield Ladies Circle is a group of women under the
age of 45 who meet twice monthly for fun nights out, making new friends, and
raising funds for charities - usually all three at once!
The club is a part of
the National Association of Ladies Circles and has links with Round Table.
Recent events have included a charity Bingo Night, Pamper Night for Breast
Cancer Awareness, as well as fun socials like film nights, barge trips, adrenalin
tubing and wine tasting.
On 26th February the girls are organising
a Charity Pampered Chef night, at Wade Street Church, Lichfield, 8pm, £5 a head
including nibbles and drinks. This is in aid of Lichfield Young Mums Support
Group, which gives support and help to local young mums in difficult
circumstances.
Lichfield Circle is looking to expand its membership, so for
more information about Lichfield Circle, or about the Pampered Chef night, please
call Viv: 07876 730564.

...Kushil Gunesekera has put their name on a commemorative board in the Udamulla Village of Sri Lanka in recognition of their support. The £1000 they raised has gone towards creating the most amazing place of opportunity for youngsters who would otherwise have no hope or prayer or getting themselves out of extreme poverty. We have been able to give them some hope.
On 25th October 2007 as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month Sheringham and
Cromer Ladies Circle hosted an Indulgence Evening at The Oddfellows Hall in
Sheringham.
Over 100 ladies and a few gentlemen attended and helped raise £614 for
the Norwich Breast Cancer Resource Fund.
This charity was started in 1992 in
response to some fundraising by a local practice nurse who had breast cancer. The
money is used to help improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and
includes the funding of a support group which meets in Sheringham twice a month.
