			 Aloha Ladies,
			 Summer
time is here, a well deserved rest is the order of the day, a time
to re charge your batteries and I look forward to our first Council
			  Meeting on the
27th September 2003, at the Hanover International Hotel, Bradford,
followed by the NALC Presidential Ball.
			The
National Council Meeting will be ‘Think Pinkâ, and I
will endeavour to utilise ‘Pinkâ to its best advantage,
giving you food for thought on the Friday evening and at the Council
			  Meeting.
			As
I travel onwards in my Circle Odyssey - ‘A long and
adventurous Journeyâ I wish to thank the Areaâs and
Circles for the many monetary donations that have been received
during my visits around Great Britain & Ireland towards my chosen
Charity ‘The British Heart Foundationâ. The foundation
will be providing certificates as a token of their appreciation
for what has been donated. |

		  So
far this Circling year, I have attended many functions and have
travelled over 4,000 miles, extending the hand of friendship to
			  old friends and new.
			I
attended Perth 279 re-affiliation dinner and was very pleased to
be part of their celebrations, and very honoured to be able to re
present them with their charter certificate. |

		    I
have also enjoyed all the visits that I have made, and I thank you
for your warm hospitality and the friendship shown to both my drivers
and myself. The next quarter of my visits will have not just female
drivers but Round Tableâs have volunteered to drive me on
some of my visits. This is great, as it shows that both NALC and
			  RT can work together.
			By
Round Table and Ladies Circle working together, Ladies Circle may
benefit from Round Table and vice versa, as any prospective member
of either organisation at some stage in their life has a partner
			  eligible to join either organisation.

      My
PLC have given me a great start to my Presidential year by securing me
a sponsored car and numerous other items to assist me on my way.
	  To
learn more about my PLC please log onto our web site at
		www.nalcpresident.co.uk
		where
you will learn all about me T, my PLC and how they all met me and became
		involved in my PLC.
	  My
Area, Area 3 has been behind me all the way, and my own Circle Todmorden
		has offered me 100% commitment.
	  RTBI
National President Chris Horsfall is not only from the same Area as me,
but we actually come from the same Table and Circle. We hope that by working
together we can guide both Round Table and Ladies Circle to the future.
	  My
theme for the year is ‘Where the Heart Isâ.
I believe that you Heart has to be in Circle in order to achieve the most
from Circle. By fundraising you make friends, by making friends you fundraise,
and you actually have fun whilst doing a service to the community. So
the saying: Its like a Circle, a Circle with no beginning or end.
	  My
Chosen Charity is the British Heart Foundation,
and more details about this can be found on the Charity Liaison Page.
	  Donât
forget to enter for the Anthony Nolan Trophy, which will be awarded to
The Circler, Circle or Area for service that they do. Fun run, Cycle Ride,
Bonfire any community event, all that is required to enter is proof of
how your time was spent.  You can enter as many times as you give
a service to the community, the more entries the more chance you have
of winning.  Please send entries to my home address or to HQ any
		time during this Circling Year.

	  So
I will leave you to enjoy summer, as I know 'Where
the Heart is', of all of you.
