Dear Circlers

Firstly a big thank you for voting me in as your new National Secretary. I’m looking forward to working with you and for you over the next two to three years and building on the excellent work that Paula has done over the past year.

As you are aware, I have been involved in Circle since I was three and was formally inducted 14 years ago by Maesteg 851 which forms part of Area 46. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Circle to date and hope to continue doing so for a few years yet!

I have heard it said that Circle is a best kept secret, so isn’t it time we let a few more people in on it?

If we are to meet the aim of our President Mandy to increase our membership by adding one and replacing those who leave we need to start to communicate effectively and get the message across. Therefore I would like you in the words of Table to adopt, adapt and improve our communications until we get it right - so don’t just sit there do what we women do best and get talking about this great organisation that is Ladies Circle so our daughters and grand daughters can be members in the next 70 years.

Lots of you out there have experience of being Secretary of either your Circle or Area and I am sure that you will agree with me that there are some ways of working that can be streamlined to ensure we have more time for the Fun & Friendship side of Circle. To that end please drop me a line with your ideas and I will be more than happy to explore them with you.

Of course any of you that are new to the job and feel apprehensive do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you may have no matter how small as I know that the Admin Handbook book doesn’t always have the answer. Our HQ staff, Margaret & Jacky, have a wealth of experience and are ready and willing to answer your queries too.

Good luck for the year ahead with all the challenges that face us, but more importantly don’t forget the Fun & Friendship. I’m looking forward to meeting you all as we travel around the country so don’t be afraid to come over and say hello.

Yours in friendship
