Party in Pink for CRUK
Falkirk Ladies Circle had a Pink Summer Ball on Friday 23rd June ’06 in Dobbie Hall to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s All Join Together Campaign.

Live music was by “Decade” and a hot buffet meal by “food4friends”.

A fabulous £1200 was raised on the night and a presentation was made on Monday 18th September ’06 to Marion Taylor, Community Fundraiser of Cancer Research UK Scotland.

Cancer Research UK’s All Join Together campaign highlights the ways local people can make a real difference by raising money to support research. While October is the month associated most with Breast Cancer Awareness the pink theme of the Circle event went well with a summer date.

Mhairi Maxwell, Chairman of Falkirk Ladies Circle, said: ‘It was fantastic fun. We decided to “Think Pink” to raise money for such a worthwhile cause whilst enjoying ourselves at the same time. Our thanks go to all our family and friends and to the local businesses for their support in making the event such a success.”

A wide range of different fundraising events will be happening throughout the UK, from now until the end of October, for people to get involved in. We were delighted to hear that Falkirk Football Team are offering their support in raising awareness of Breast Cancer during the month of October.

Marion Taylor said: “By supporting our All Join Together Campaign and hosting events like The Think Pink Summer Ball you can help Cancer Research UK to make progress in finding new answers to the disease.”
