Niki Stocken, National President Hello from the National President of Ladies CircleMy name is Niki Stocken I work full time as a Dental Practice Manager and I live in Northallerton with my partner Mark, we have had the fantastic “Surfs Up” Conference in Eastbourne and now I am on the road visiting Circles Locally, Nationally and Internationally. Thank you all for giving me the chance to become your National President 2009/10, I feel so lucky to be able to give back to Circle part of the love and friendship I have experienced over the last 19 years with a smile. We still have much work to do spreading the word about Circle, well done and welcome to our 200 new members I am looking forward to meeting you all. A quote from a Tabler in April to a member of our National Executive team was “What is Circle?“ I hope to start by getting our brand noticed, and ask that you all wear your Circle pin with pride. This year I have had a pin designed that I think will fit in with today’s modern busy woman and shine out. We paid a lot of money for our re-branding so I hope that you will start to use the logo so that our brand will become recognised. Our aims and objectives are to work side by side with Round Table, Tangent & 41 Club, having fun and raising money for charity and I know what a great job you all do of this. We raise money for Charity Locally, Nationally & Internationally. At the AGM in Eastbourne we were able to hand over £13K for CRUK, £30k for Saris international project building toilet blocks in India and over £11k, for Retts Syndrome last years’ President Lynda’s National Charity. That’s not even including what each Club & Area has raised for their very own personal charities. This is a truly amazing result in the year of a credit crunch - well done girls. My Charity for the year is Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF). I wish to raise awareness as well as money over the next year. It is their 20th year this year so they too have lots of celebrations. If your Table or Circle are able to help in distributing awareness information please contact Iain Elliott at MRF . I will also be collecting old mobile phones for them to recycle so whatever the age or state let me have them and it could be an easy £5 for MRF . I hope that I will be able to visit many of you in your own circle over the next 12 months, or come along to an event so that we can meet up. Or as the song goes “Come up and see me, and make me smile” and join me for the Presidential Masked Ball on 26th September in Middlesborugh. After the council meeting. And don’t forget what ever you do, Do It With a Smile Smile with Circle Niki Stocken National President
