Corinne Hallett, current Chair of Winchester Tangent and honorary member of Winchester Circle, is pictured here with members of Winchester Circle, friends and neighbours who helped her raise £300 for ‘Wessex Cancer’ and ‘Breakthrough for Cancer’ at a pink themed Open House. Winchester's Pink Party Pays Off! Winchester Circle’s forthcoming charity Film Night is also a beneficiary with a £100 donation for raffle prizes from the sales of ‘Vie at home’ products.
Friends, family and other visitors at the nine hour event were able to buy raffle tickets, spring bulbs and make donations for homemade muffins – all of which followed the theme - pink of course! There was also a chance to sample and buy from a sumptuous display of ‘Vie at Home’ make up, lotions and potions.
“My doorbell started ringing at 1.00pm,” says Corinne, “and the last guests were leaving at just gone 10.00pm! It was exhausting, but good fun.” “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Corinne, on behalf of the seventy plus people who enjoyed her hospitality,” says Circle Chair, Jo Woodland. “She ‘hostess’d’ a fantastic event.”
Tickets for Winchester Circle’s next fundraiser, a Charity Film at the Screen are now available to order, priced £15. The ticket price includes a pre show drinks reception at the Peugeot Garage in Southgate Street. To place your order please contact Jill Lawrence on 07989 767823.
Winchester Stroke Association and Winchester Young Carers will share the evening’s proceeds. The next Circle meeting on 28th October is a judging/weigh in event with home grown pumpkins from the seeds/plants distributed to members and guests by the new Chair in May. Entry without pumpkin will be permitted and there will be some Halloween fun for all including the less successful green fingered members!
Anyone wishing to find out more about Circle or wanting to join in should contact Jo Woodland on 07766 516900.
